I bit my tongue when I read the original post - unfortunately and sadly, those are all statements anyone associated with pet care has really heard. Our newest family member, Cassie, is a SAGA rescue story. She was found about 3 1/2 months ago, under a house with a machete wound, starving to death, tick fever and close to death. Many thanks to SAGE, Ingrid and Kathy (from PP), and our new vet, Dr. Lorie, cuz she is now a HAPPY, healthy dog, and a most welcome addition to our family. Yeah, this is a SAGA plug, and as a volunteer, I want to say, if anyone has an extra space in their family....there are SOOOOOOO many wonderful dogs, puppies, cats and kittens available right now - they are just waiting for the special human to bring them home!

Rod was sifting sand thru his toes, with a Belikin in hand last month in San Pedro.

there is never a reason to abandon a dog.

:: "My dog doesn't match the sofa."
(my sofa does not match the dog)

:: "The dog looks evil and has different coloured eyes, just like David Bowie."
(The dog has different colored beautiful eyes)

:: "My black dog doesn't match new white carpet, can we swap him for a white dog?"
(again, the carpet does not match the dog, can we rip it out and tile the house?)

:: "My current dog is too old, can we swap for a puppy or younger model?"
(Thank god my dog is not a puppy, she is potty trained and behaves well--most of the time)

:: "My dog ate the Christmas turkey cooling on the worktop."
(Why did you leave it sitting within reach?)

:: "My pet guinea pig got worried with a dog in the house."
(My dog wants to eat your guinea pig. People in Peru do and it's a delicacy so why can't the dog)

:: "The dog opened all the presents on Christmas Eve."
(super, she probably deserved them. The rest of us really don't need gifts, we should be thankful for what we have and our loved ones.

:: An owner who accidentally knelt in dog mess while cleaning it up brought the dog in the very next day.
(what?)
