We will arrive in San Pedro on April 24th. Unfortunately we will be arriving one day earlier then the rest of our party. We booked on American Airlines and got one hell of a deal based on the current/past arifare. The rest of our party booked in Us Airways and since they changed the flight schedules the rest of the gang all had to change their arrival to Saturday April 25th. This kinda ticks me off because we miss out the last night of us all together since we come home on the 1st, they all return the 2nd.
Ayway, AA wants to charge us $350 to change plus the difference in the ticket price...yeah ok, right I will get on that one! So we need a hotel to stay in just for one night. The owner of the rental we are staying in for the week said the Conch Hotel is a property of hers and we could stay for a small discount. I know nothing of the hotels and while I dont need a 5 star place, I dont want to pay a pretty penny for one night since we have already spent some change on the house rental. Any suggestions?

The Conch Shell is nice, and the new owners renovated it. You will love it! It will be perfect for you for your night before you go up to the Blue Dolphin!

If Conch doesn't work out, Ruby's would be a good choice.

there are lots of hotels on the island, and the //ambergriscaye.com/conchshell/ looks like a good choice for April. I've never stayed there, myself, but I've hung out with people who stayed there and liked it. I don't think that they have airconditioning in the rooms-that shouldn't be an issue in April.

My recommendation? Book it and stay the night. Be sure to tell us how you like the place.

Thanks all! I guess we will stay at the Conch. It is for one night and cant be that bad, it is on the beach ;-)
I will let you know how it was afterwards. I do feel the mind is a powerful thing and even if it was a complete pit, I will be on vacation in the beautiful sunny AC!!

edited to say... I have spoken with the owner of Conch on the phone and she is a wonderful person. Easy to talk to and was more then willing to help me out when our plans changed.
