from Allison Reisz PhotographyWhat an honor I had bestowed upon me
Some may frown at the fact they had to work on their birthday, but my experience yesterday was the total opposite. I took part in an amazing wedding and celebration, in which I not only got to meet the Prime Minister of Belize Dean Barrow and his lovely First Lady Kim Simplis-Barrow, but I got to shoot it!
Prime Minister Barrow and First Lady Barrow's wedding date of February 7 was chosen due to the fact it marks the anniversary of Prime Minister Barrow's and the United Democratic Party's victory in the polls. The day he was elected Prime Minister.
Savannah was honored by their presence due to a couple of reasons. One being that Kim's mom lives here and secondly due to the fact that others they know don't. A beautiful, intimate wedding with dear friends and family was the goal That goal was achieved!
The day started out with the couple, family and friends getting ready at the Marshall House in Savannah. Not many locations can represent old Savannah charm the same way. Family and Friends were then shuttled to the Episcopal Church of St Paul the Apostle, where the wedding was to be held and presided by Bishop Wright. Bishop Wright is the youngest Anglican Bishop to be appointed in Belize. What an amazing honor for us all to have him not only attend, but preside in the Mass and wedding ceremony.
After a beautiful ceremony and Prime Minister Dean Barrow and First Lady Kim Barrow took their vows of love and devotion to one another, the party was led back to the Marshall house for drinks and the reception. An amazingly ornate scene was laid out by Sebrell Smith, in what is truly a day for everyone in attendance to remember.
There is so much to say about this wedding, from the generosity and kindness of all in attendance, to the beautiful details throughout every step of the day, but I will try and let my images speak for themselves.
WHAT AN HONOR and a birthday I won't soon forget!!!
