I used to build homes in the states now I teach drafting and design along with engineering at the high school level.
When I start building I will be there everyday checking. The thing I have to brush up on is the type of woods to build with.
Is their any info on that online?

I hubby teaches drafting and woodwork in our local high school.

All of the dimension TP standard lumber has been imported for a few years now.
It is the same price as the local TP but the local stuff is much stronger and the size is not the same--hence you cannot mix and match if you are building a wood structure.
Also, Having an ex teacher\homebuilder on site every day will probably add $50 a SF to the cost of the house.
