IMHO, my 13 year old daughter and I love the Belize zoo. Almost every trip I make to SP with my daughter, first thing she wants to do is visit Junior the jaguar.

Lamanai every time. It gives you the full spectrum of what Belize has to offer. From the Caye on a boat accross the lagoon, through the mangrove lowlands. Swap to a bus and drive through the low lying north of Belize and it's oldest Village and then back into a small boat for an hour boat ride up the river through jungle, passing a Mennonite Community and the Maya ruins themselves covered in thick jungle. Lots of wildlife possibilities on one trip I saw Manattee, Dolphin, Crocs, Tons of Birds including Toucan, Howler and Spider Monkeys.
