Last nights meeting was another eye opener. I didn't get the gentleman's name but a professional videographer was taken to the "swamp' (wetlands) and filmed what is called 'flats fishing'. There were Permit, Bonefish, Tarpon putting up big shows. All were filmed and released. Any fisherman would go crazy seeing this film.
Another professional videographer who does underwater film was introduced. Roger Roth told the audience that he writes a monthly article called Video Lights and it is distributed to scuba divers all over the world. He explained how this network of people got Disney to NOT put shark fin soup on the menu.
He also distributed some copies of this months article which details what this group is doing and asking for world wide support in our effort. Please feel free to copy and paste this and send to as many of your friends as possible. The squeaky wheel. . . . and all that you know! (BTW - this is my friend who some of you voted for in the Australia gig.)
Critter corner: There are some fishermen around Belize that have shark fishing licenses, however, there are no limits to catch size. Recently a fishing boat was seen to have over 30 nurse sharks on board and filleting was occurring as pictures were taken. This fishing boat was documented taking sharks within 10-15 minutes of Hol Chan Marine Reserve and Shark Ray Alley where there are no longer sharks around.

well done. thank you for posting Harriette, and kudos for your (and the others') efforts in trying to keep AC the beautiful, natural, bountiful gem it is.
ACCC has put the deed of conveyance from 1989 and the unsigned/named document from Island resorts Limited on the website. The DOE does not have a land title document and are looking into the fact that the Island resorts document is unsigned.
Dear Members, We have been invited onto the Morning Show on Reef radio tomorrow morning at 7am, channel 7 on the tv. It would be nice to have a good cross section of members to support those behind the microphones. Please support if you can. thanks ACCSD -- Ambergris Caye Citizens for Sustainable Development. website - http://sites.google.com/site/accsdbze/ Embracing development that "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."
And the latest new addition to the web page: the Masterplan. when you look at the area where Southbeach is to be situated, you will se that most of it is "Non Development Zone".

If anyone is interested in seeing the complete document we can email it out.
