I'll be arriving in a few weeks and plan on spending a few days on Ambergis Caye (most likely Pedro's or Ruby's) and then a few days on Caye Caulker.

Has anyone ever stayed at Popeyes Beach Resort or Barefoot Beach resort? I just came across these 2 places during a search.

I'm really just looking for an affordable ($60-$80), safe place that's near the beach and restaurants.
Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

I stayed at Popeye's a couple years ago. They have since added the third floor. The rooms are pretty minimal although clean. They had AC a small tv and a curtain which separates the bathroom from the sleeping area. It's safe there. For about $20 more a night seaside cabanas is a nicer room.

Barefoot Beach is further down the beach, and is about 10 minutes walk from restaurants. Its very quiet at that end of the beach. Their rooms also look nice.
