hi all on this great board for info about belize.I'm finally finializing my first trip to belize.I need help. I want to stay on AC just to see the place I've been reading about on this board since before the hurricane.but I run across the site for tobaco caye, it really sounds good to.Ihave reservations at rubys but I'm considering tobacocaye what does anybody think please don't think of me bad for considering tobaco caye for six nights and two night at caves branch any help, suggestion, do's and don'ts would be greatly appreciated.

I could just be talking out of my backside here, but I thought there wasn't anything on Tobacco but a resort? If that's the case, 6 days might be a bit long. If you like seclusion, but want to leave other possibilities open (like lots of different restaurants to experiment with, really friendly, wacko, wonderful people to meet, shopping, the chicken drop, Punta dancing, Kayaking, easy access to fabulous day trips, etc.) I'd suggest staying at a resort on the north end of AC. You'll get the solitude but keep your options open.

Tobacco caye is a small island, just a few acres, with a handful of cabins and small hotels, all budget/moderate. It can be great if you don't need shops or much of a choice of places to eat, and if your primary interest is water -- fishing and diving.

You can bus or fly to Dangriga and then take a boat out there -- your hotel on Tobacco caye will help you arrange it.
