We'll be in SP tomorrow, just last night my granddaughter was asking if jellyfish were a problem. She is very afraid of them. I told her it should not be a problem, then right now i see on the ambergis blog pictures with hundreds of jellyfish in ambergris. is this a temporary thing or something that could last awhile. Thank you. Mik

Heh, I see this too. Well, I am curious to what species the smaller ones are in the picture, and how bad are the stings? Like "ouch that tingles", "omg that burns" or "I need medical attention" bad? Anyone know? I remember walking in the rough surf in Florida not being able to see anything in the water, yet feeling little "tingly stings", it was from Jellyfish broken up in the surf, the little pieces still can tingle your skin. Wasn't anything bad though. Is this a migration issue? Mating? Just curious. Isn't going to stop us from coming.

We have these tiny tiny larve of the thimble jelly fish, the adult looks like a pulsating cherrio, no streamers, adults harmless babies get into your bathing suit and once trapped produce welts that itch and swell up for a long time. These little guys are seasonal only a few months, and you can easily protect yourself by applying baby oil or suntan oil under your bathing suit....
