I plan on being in the Caye Caulker area during the Memorial Day Weekend and wanted to get any insight whether there is any form of night life there and also any recommendations on what type of local foods to try , not the fancy top food but mainly local eateries and cuisine.
Another thing. Is it better to make reservations for a modest room before i get there or should i wait till i get to Caye Caulker before i get a room. How far is Caye Caulker from Ambergis caye?

Any help will be appreciated.

Caye Caulker has a couple of kinda nightclubs and a sportsbar
but I don't think it is really the "nightclub" kinda place but
don't worry I can't imagine anyone not having fun on CC. Cooked
local food is inexpensive and good. Stewed chicken rice and beans
and cole slaw/mac and cheese. Fruits and juices and vegtables
are good and inexpensive. Look for specials at resturants and
one can eat cheap. Conch fritters at Sandbox are $4US for
example and the portion was great. Don't worry if you look you
can find inexpensive food. Don't know much about places to
stay as we always stay at the same place.

Looking for "night life" then go to or stay on Ambergris Caye.

CC is VERY slow paced. I like CC for a day trip. We visit CC and hang out at the cut most every trip.
