Marty,

I need your help in finding an archaeologist on the island that is willing
to lend their time to authenticate artifacts for the museum. Thought maybe
you may know of someone on the island or be willing to post a message on
your board.

Also, we need to raise funds for the museum so any ideas that you may have
would most certainly be welcome. The museum has lost financial support of
the San Pedro Town Board and the Belize Tourism Board and this has caused
a significant lost of funds for the museum. We will be asking local
businesses to donate but are looking for a few major sponsors that can
commit to helping us with the ongoing operating expenses.

The Ambergris Caye Historical Society is a Non-Government Organization
(NGO) and a None Profit Organization created to preserve the history and
culture of our island and to educate residents and visitors of our
colorful
heritage. Our website can be reached at //www.ambergriscaye.com/museum/index.html

Thanks for the help, Marty! If anyone is in doubt about the impact the museum has had on its visitors, they need to read the visitor comment book. It's so rewarding! and to those who have not yet visited, please make sure you stop in to see, it was an effort of love by some very dedicated community members, past and present. I promise it's a great journey through the communities that have shared the island starting with the Maya to the Mestizo of today.
