When the swine flu virus was first in the news, Belize was not allowing its residents to leave the country at the Mexican border. Does anyone know if this is the case now that the flu had reached pandemic? Also, why would they restrict travel when WHO states travel restrictions are a human right? Also, why is this never in the news?

Don't know what you're talking about, I know of several people that crossed the border at that time.

Interesting, there was a week where they would not let anyone leave the country unless they were from another country.

I don't know where you're getting your information from but it's false.

The free zone was closed for a few days but that's not the border.

I am not talking about Americans. They would not let any Belizeans cross the border unless it was for a medical emergency.

And this was when the outbreak first was in the news.

Wow, I have heard a lot about this from Belizeans trying to travel. They were not even letting them fly from Belize City for a while.

I came on here to get a question answered. Unless you are working at the border or are a Belizean that has tried to cross the border recently, I am not sure you can help. Even though the thought of someone blowing smoke up my butt is rather exciting.
