Does anyone have first-hand info on transporting "stuff" from Miami to San Pedro? Thanks to Keith, this is the second time I'm messing with all this. The first time, I just used suit cases that were really, really, big and FULL! I'm thinking of bringing bikes (1 adult/1kid, maybe a microwave and a few kitchen things. Certainly not enough for a container, but it ends up being really expensive just to mail or really uncomfortable to carry myself. Would like to know what options people have found that work out well. I'm not in a rush for things to arrive, but am seeking reliability and something as inexpensive as possible.

Sue,

If you just want to bring the items mentioned, you can send it thru the cargo division of American Airlines.

You can break the bikes down and have them boxed in a long narrow box. Mailboxes, Etc. can pack it for you.

As long as each box is not over 70 lbs....it isn't real expensive.

Contact the cargo division at American and see what they say.

As for the microwave.....box it and bring it with you on the plane. [Linked Image]

Don't go through Lane to ship your stuff; she's way too expensive and has had a bad reputation for not doing her job well. The best people to talk to are in fact the only people to talk to. Mike Singh/Jose Gomez at Belize Transportation Agencies can get whatever you want to Belize the cheapest and most reliable way there is. Contact them at 011-501-2-73507. Or check out the website at www.belizetransportation.com
