Hi,
I,ll be in AC in May. Heard that bottled drinking water is sometimes unavailable to purchase. Also that water in general is strictly rationed for showers and flushing toilets. True? thanks

KT,

I trust you are referring to Ambergris Caye. In 7 years we've never had a problem getting bottled water in any quantities that we want. Currently we have it delivered to the condo 8 gallons at a time.

There is no rationing of water in San Pedro town for toilet flushing or anything else.

There is a possibilty that in areas where the municipal water system does not extend that there could be common sense suggestions regarding the use of water. These areas would use cisterns and wells for water (most of the island above the cut for example) and would be a bit more sensitive about waste.

We have never had trouble finding bottled water, but I am sure there were difficulties following hurricane Keith.

Have seen notes to conserve water during dry season, but "strictly rationed for showers and flushing toilets" seems severe, unless also info following hurricane Keith.

Belize it!
