I always have mixed feelings about these kinds of cards. If you are a single traveler, the 2 for 1's aren't really helpful and the 10% isn't very much. I would love to see an alternate offer suited for a single traveler for each coupon.

Single travellers get nailed. Ever looked at the single supplement on a packaged vacation? Or they will let you room with a stranger. My experience is that you buy the card and then spend more money trying to use it.

Moose, Ernie, Tim - agree. I think it's just another way for businesses to advertise.

I used it to save money on groceries recently a useful thing here when people do not have sales to often.

I didnt see any grocery stores listed.

The places listed above are a small fraction of the ones you get to use for the card e if you go to the website you can see all the places it is good for.

I have seen most businesses give massive discounts by asking( try it).Most businesses mark up the price to allow for the reduction.I know if I walked into Ritchies, and asked; for the same discount I would get it.

e when you get the card you get a list of places and what they offer. I would guess there are about 50 places.

I suppose you are right Tim just never tried it for some places.

For people who aren't comfortable asking for a discount, I can see where a card like that might give them the chance to do so.

I don't know how much they are asking to purchase one of those cards, but here in the US there is a similar "card" called the Entertainment Book. It's like $50 or so and gives discounts on the local area. Schools often use them as fund raisers. However, when I worked in the hotel business, the Entertainment Book would consistently advertise a discount at our hotel that we didn't offer. We would sometimes accept it anyway if occupancy was really low, but it irritated us to no end.

Not saying that the Hot card is anything like that, but I am always very skeptical of such offers.
