I know that San Pedro is pretty much the nly populated place on A.C. and the rest is forest. Is there any animals or other wildlife on the island? Just wondering

I'd like to second that question and ask if anyone can comment on the kayaking/canoeing/exploring in the lagoons of AC. We'll be coming over for the first time in May and I'm trying to find out where I can rent a kayak and go exploring. We'll be staying at Ramon's so recommendations on the southern part of the island would be preferable. What about snorkeling on the west side of the caye? Any suggestions ??
Thanks folks!

Lots of birds and saltwater crocks in back. (the West). Be careful where you're going if you don't have a guide! The mosquitos are wild too!
On the front, there's endless rays, sharks, squid, and fish. Snorkle at night under ANY dock.
ps. bring a light.

PS. Find out what I'm up to at www.broadjam.com/barefootskinny

Your's not in the Caye of "A"

If you are going to snorkle, you cannot miss Shark Ray Alley. It is absolutly incredible! It was my first time (last week) I thought I would be a little scared but it was AWESOME!! We were swimming with 6 sharks and a dozen rays and of course many other fish. It was definatly the favorite of all the great things to do there! DONT MISS IT!!

The iguanas are COOL!!!! My sons found a spot in Mexico where they like to sun themselves and brought them bananas in the morning. Fascinating to feed. Try locating their hang out.
