in case you have not heard, and are remotely interested, the pave job on the peninsula road is moving right along.
it is now paved from the point all the way to maya beach!
and it looks like MB will be done in the next few days.
and it's a beautiful road! we have gone from the worst road in the country to the best!

Crossing barricades similar to railway crossing gates on the east end of Placencias airstrip would def be a good idea.

Hey Barnacle how long will it now take to drive from Belize City to Placencia? Starting to wonder if it may be a better option than Maya/Tropic at least one leg of our trip.

Figure about 2.5 hrs. Once the Coastal Road is paved, two hrs.

Are they planning to pave the coastal road? Haven't heard that but it would be great news.
