Yep exactly the mayors attitude!
I would seriously like to see the North unannexed from San Pedro and start paying our taxes again to central government.
Its very doable and has happened twice in the past, you can't annex an area you can't service just to collect its taxes.

It broke down and was sent to the mainland for repair. I think, if I remember correctly it was not repairable but it was replaced with a new one. It was promised to us north of the bridge, but it never arrived. I was told another area of Belize was found to be more in need of it.

Probably an area of voters that don't constantly complain.

i voted for them but don't have to agree with what they are doing, just voted for the lesser of two evils.

Two of our friends [one here and one in Canada] get blister like things when they get bitten does anyone know of a cure for that or something that helps it heal faster?

I read about this years ago when i first came to the island. the reaction to the bite is different when you first start getting bit, in other words the immune system toughens up after a some time and a lot of bites, then the body stops having such a big reaction to the bite.
Thats probably not going to be instantly gratifying to your friends.
I guess being virgins to bug bites is just a lot of misery :-)

No we have again a breading ground for mosquito's.
When will the Government fill all the potholes in DFC?

We had 3 Dengue cases on our Road, my son just got a positive Test two weeks ago and i know from another one close to the new Horizon School.

Was there once a effort from the Health Inspector to visit all the areas, street by street and asking for action from the Landowners and the Government?

To spray will never solve our problems and Dengue will spread more and more on our island.

Combating the mosquito issue is a project that requires the co-operation of the people as well as support and financing from the government.

One of the biggest causes of mosquito infestations is trash. A mosquito larvae can live in a drop of water on an empty chips packet, discarded cans, bottles, tyres, buckets etc.

Even if we aerial spray, ground spray and treat our drinking water and well water supplies so that mosquitos cannot breed we will still need to combat the trash problem and the overgrown land in populated areas.

We can't eradicate the mosquitoes but we can begin to control the situation if we are all willing to do our little part.

Remember, stay indoors during the times of day when the mosquitoes are most active - this is around dawn and dusk. Wear repellant.

Cayeman, sorry to hear your son got sick. I had dengue fever back about 10 years ago -its not an experience I would ever want to relive. I hope he is feeling better.
