The proposed RETURNABLE CONTAINERS BILL, which I believe is scheduled to go the the House tomorrow Sept 23, refers only to Glass containers.
Plastic and metal containers have been omitted. 
WHY this obvious omission? 
Is it short sightedness or deliberate avoidance of tackling the enforcement of necessary legislation? 
Again Belize seems to be buying another flat tire!
Please take a little time today to send emails or make phone calls to your representatives and appropriate authorities requesting correction or postponement of passage of this bill so it can be done correctly for effective reduction of man made pollution by plastic and metal containers.   This is very urgent!!!!!
It is apparent that the proposed bill is fashioned after similar Barbados legislation which includes metal and plastic containers.
Plastic and metal containers make up a very large percentage of man made pollution to the environment of Belize and all other countries.  Many countries and states have taken steps to reduce or have such containers returned to the distributors for proper disposal.  Incentives to return.containers go a long way to help remove containers from roadways, fields rivers and shorelines.
If this proposed bill goes to the house tomorrow without any public consultation a grossly inadequate legislation will probably be passed.  Again we legislate for another flat tire.
