Home work; or just work?
For years now, the local catholic school teachers require it's students on a regular basis (weekly or bi-weekly) to create little booklets of pictures, typically 5 to 10 of them of various subjects, such as the 7 Sacraments, Landfills and Countries of the World. These have to be photographs. Where is a typical San Pedro elementary student supposed to get these? The library? No, they have no printer or copy machine. From magazines? Obviously not since there are none to speak of. That leaves two options for the majority without a color printer at home; a friend with an internet connection and a color printer; or as applies to most of them; the local printshop with internet and a $5.00 price tag for each photo. Do the math, we are talking about a lot of money, and there are really only two print shops in town.
Should the children have the option to create drawings instead of just paying for internet searches and expensive color prints perhaps?
