Never been to Belize. Saw this ad in a Tucson, Arizona newspaper that caught my eye.
Three nights at Trends Hotel on Caye Caulker and 4 nights at the Spindrift Hotel in Ambergris Caye from West Coast for $800, including air. Sounds too good to be true.

Has anyone stayed at either of these two hotels?

I have not stayed at these place, but have seen them, Trends is on the beach by a good restaurant the Sandbox on Caulker.
Spindrift in on the beach on Ambergris in San Pedro, and best known for the Chicken Drop. Plenty good restaurants and bars all around. You can't go wrong, go for it.

What all did the $800 include? Was it more than just the accommodations? The Spindrift is not a great hotel compared to a number of other places and I'm sure that you can get a room there for less than $100/night.

There are actually two Trends hotels on Caulker, the original Trends, which is a low-budget place not on the water, and Trends Beach Hotel which is a newer, nicer spot right at the main pier and next to the Sandbox restaurant. Regular rate there is about US$35 a night. That's for a double

The Spindrift has a variety of rooms, some quite inexpensive, especially off-season. So could probably stay at both these places for seven nights for a total of around US$300 double, or about $150 each for two people.

So, depending on what if anything else the package includes, and depending on what air fare you can find on your own, it may not be that great a deal.

That sounds like a promotion that Capricorn Leisure Travel has been running (Saw it in Frommers Mag). They are legit. Used them once about 2 years ago. I looked into this deal, too, but as I travel single, after the "single surcharges" were added on, it wasn't that much of a deal.

Sounds like a fairly good deal. Airfare alone from Los Angeles is between $490 and $530 including all fees. I am sure flying from Tucson wouldn't be much cheaper.

Thanks for all the helpful responses. Did more research and will stay at Banana Beach Resort. Also found great airfare from Phoenix to Belize. Will be in AC May 3rd thru May 10th.
