Jim its abit more buggy then and it rains more at that time of year. Not much wind too cool you down. Also possiblity of hurricanes, it will be hot though.

Jim...we were there the first week of September last year..weather was great,a few bugs when the wind died down and it was still. Rained at night,most every night, but not during the day. Have a great time!

hey. i was there last aug, 19th-26. it was nice, but quite hot during the day. the beach usually had a great breeze to keep you comfortable. but it was hot & humid (tropics, of course). be sure to bring bug spray. we had an unusually buggy week, but be prepared, just in case (we used 7 cans of off). i understand that is not the norm. it can get cool enuff for long paants at night, but shorts was our choice. and a hat, and spf 30!
