Here is my updated list of Belize jungle lodges, in terms of their "jungle-like" setting. By jungle-like I mean what most folks would think of when they're thinking of a "real" jungle - broadleaf canopy, no signs of civilization around, potential for birding and wildlife spotting. It doesn't necessarily mean that the degree of "jungleness" makes the lodge better or worse. Some of the best lodges are not in the most jungle-like setting.

I've personally stayed at or at least visited all but five of these lodges.

I've probably overlooked a few lodges.

Several of these are close calls and could go in a different category. Your perceptions and mileage may vary.

Great list! Glad you did this, I might have been harsher on those advertising 'Jungle' and being bush.
My all time favorite is Chan Chich The jaguar population there is astounding.
Great List.
