A friend who lives here but is not on island much went to the ferry to come and visit near Sundiver and she was told that it cost 20 usd to get here. I guess the sale is over.

Should have been 20 BZD for both ferries.
Was it at Island Ferry or Coastal Express?

The coastal price for Sundiver or YWAM as it is now called is $14bz for a single ride or $23 round trip.
Befor the Coastal Xpress arrived it was $20BZ one way.
How easily one forgets.

For a resident it is $7bz and $11.50bz round trip. Sometimes it is difficult to differentiate the two. The value of either price is quite easy to see though.

And by resident, they mean resident of San Pedro. I was charged full price being a resident of Caye Caulker.

Hello Darrell,
I did check the Coastal Express rate sheet that we have here before I posted. The rate sheet I have does not mention YWAM, it jumps from Las Terrazas to Mata Chica which is 10 USD for visitors, that is 20 BZD. If our rate sheet is not current, please send us an updated one.

Your rate sheet is correct Jan. You may want to mention to your visitors to ask for the roundtrip to get an extra 20% off.

As I said , it is quite hard to differentiate. We give all belizean nationals, workers and foreign investors on the island the local rate.
We are thinking about the possibility of a local id for anyone that wishes to be able to get the discounts that we and perhaps other businesses offer.

Heh heh...
Or a bar-coded implant?
