being in property management, we have become aware up here of all kinds of drainage & runoff issues due to clearing natural vegetation (and increase of concrete use).

would there be issues of drainage, run-off & puddling due to clearing of land for this? if so, say hi to an increase of standing water & mosquito breeding grounds. (not to mention it would [inadvertently] clear the breeding grounds of all sorts of other UN-HARMFUL local wildlife). what about use of chemicals to keep the greens weed free - and then where does the chemical run off go? into the mangroves & sea??

just my $0.04 BZ.

Sweetjane, You should visit Cay Chapel, They have attracted more wild life than was on the island before the golf course was there , its beautiful, a first class job of creating a golf course. Lots of mangroves and crocs to shoot over and great birds.
I shot this at the 16th hole.

And this at the club house

I've never seen a white crowned pigeon on Ambergris.
As you might suspect I'm difficult to play golf with because i stop for photo op's

Crocs.......oh yes! You actually have to sign a waiver when you check in because of the crocks. If you hit a ball into the water, don't try to retrieve it :-)

Does anyone know their website or email address? We were planning to golf there in January, so I would like to find out their official calendar/timeline on reopening.

I think the croc wavier is kinda cool but more of a giggle than a real liability danger.
However when i hit the ball in the water or close to it . i just went to the bag and pulled out another ball.

The resort is currently closed and is not scheduled to reopen for the next few months.

No giggle on the waiver. We went to a Birthday Party there and they were super strict on everyone signing the waiver as you got off the boat.
