Last week The San Pedro Sun ran an article on a burglary that occurred at the San Pedro Roman Catholic School (SPRCS) in San Pedro Town. Well there is even more bad news; the school was the target of criminals again. Officials at the school discovered on Wednesday morning that two class rooms were broken into, books were torn apart and damaged, and the class rooms had been completely turned upside down. While the school’s officials are strongly pleading to the public to desist from vandalizing the school, they are also making a public call. Anyone who might have information about the culprit (s) involved in the school burglaries are asked to kindly get in contact with the school management or the San Pedro Police Department.

A C, go directly to jail, do not pass GO, do not collect $200.00.

What about a security camera or cameras placed so as to be able to capture footage of the perpetrators? If they have internet at the school it could be fed to an offsite computer to capture the footage. Need to be either hidden pretty well or put up high enough to at least prevent it begin taken out from afar. The entire thing could probably be done for less than $1000 BZD. I would be willing to contribute. It won't stop them from doing the crime but it should ensure they do the time.

OK I am back. A couple years back I installed all the PCs at the RC School computer lab through the kind donation of our company and the lab was also burglarized. I returned and and installed an IP camera and we did catch the theif in the act and unfortunately it was an inside job. We managed to retrieve 1 of the 2 pc that was stolen. So thats a great idea about extended the network of cameras.

Does anyone associated with the school read this board? As I said I would be wiling to donate some funds to make this happen (and I am an atheist). This sort of pure vandalism should be fairly easy to stop or at least made painful for the perpetrators.

Just to clarify - the RC School is San Pedro's public elementary school.

Doubtful that the school teachers read this board. Donations and assistance should be offered directly to the principal and probably discussed in person. Perhaps the Town Board could also be contacted for such a project.

Thanks, Diane. I have had just about as much interaction with the Town Board as I would like and given that this is a public school perhaps I spoke too soon.

No. Go directly to town square. Gather every child in the school to come see the men who do not think their lives are worth anything more than smashing. Let them question the fathers, brothers, uncles, who violated them and their futures. Put their names with photos of the damage up in HUGE letters so everyone who sees them will know what they did. Have them make a full PUBLIC account as to the details of the incident. SHAME THEM!!!

Then

Go directly to jail, stay there until all damages are paid in full by family or friends. FIN

I've always been a fan of the old chain gang idea myself. Have them work off the debt while in jail, rather than sitting on their butt while someone else pays it back.
