An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale shook the border of Guatemala and Mexico, seismologists in Nicaragua said Wednesday, saying that there was no immediate word of damage or injuries.
If you look at the earthquake site you will see that there are earthquakes on a very, very regular basis in this region. Luckily here on the caye we only feel a small fraction. In fact if I notice more than one quake a year that is a lot.
If you have Google Earth loaded on your computer there is a plug in from USGS that shows all recent earthquakes around the globe. It also shows all of the fault lines. The Haiti, Cayman, San Salvador and Belize earthquakes over the last while all show up on the same connected fault line.
