I agree with Simon, I see no reason why any commonwealth country should cast off it's hertiage and traditions and adopt American ways... We should be proud of where we came from, how we got to where we are and how we get to where we are going.
I see Simon also adopted the American spelling of 'honour' in keeping with the American title. Unfortunately American spelling and pronounciation is creeping into southern Canada (particularly southern Ontario) as it is in Belize. A result of the internet, tourism and TV I guess.

Don't worry, the spelling was on purpose. I always use ou instead of or when it's correct to do so. I also don't spell cheque check.

N. Canuck, I'm never a proponent of Americanize, there not a good example of anything i can think of at the moment.
I would like to see Belize Belizeanize Belize and not mindlessly adopt someone elses screwed up culture. Think for themselves and in the case of 'Her Worship' give her a title that reminds her of the reality of the job, like 'Public Servant Elsa Paz' or Something more fallible in the title.

Thank God that languages evolve else we would still be grunting and pointing in trying to communicate.
