Can someone tell me where it is on the island? I can't seem to locate it on the maps. Will I need a golf cart to get into town?

Not too far from Victoria House. Start looking at the resorts from the bottom of the map and move up. You should see it as the 8th.

In my opinion, you will definitely need a golf cart to get into town, at your leisure/pleasure.

Thank you. I thought it was on the north end for some reason. That's where I was looking. Is it an OK place for a moderately priced hotel? It looks nice on the website. We haven't been to Ambergris Caye in about 10 years.

more like military barracks with thatch roofs. And rack rates @ $140/night and up you can do a helluva lot better.

just saying.................

The rooms are lovely inside and you should be able to negotiate a good deal.

I remember the posts(and seeing) when it was being built. First, a number of "locals" were convinced it was not even on the island, but somewhere else in the Carib., but eventually the consensus then was that it was migrant worker housing. That being said, it's always been tidy, but the "rack rate" is, comparatively, goofy.

it was also touted by a "manager" (from Israel) on this very forum as being built to house the casino workers at a yet to be built casino.

Stayed here for a week in November... they very kindly helped us out while we were in town doing our medical teaching. The units are spotless and very nice inside. The pool is very nice and is right next to the Sandbar for drinks and light meals. Also right next to the fantastic atmosphere of Victoria House where we also went for breakfast/dinner/drinks. 140 in this climate is ridiculous... but a good place to stay if you can get a deal.
