My husband and I are planning a vacation to AC during the first 2 weeks of December 2001. We wanted to be close to town so we have narrowed it down to Ramon's, Sunbreeze and Paradise Villas. We are leaning towards Paradise Villas but were unsure because they do not have a dive shop on property. Could anybody help us decide between these 3 choices. Also, We could travel the first two weeks of November but would prefer December. Is there much difference in weather during these 2 months. Thanks for any information you can provide.

We just got back from AC and stayed at Paradise Villas. It was a great place! The accomodations were clean and comfortable. We rented ours through Tradewinds, which I understand is one of the owners. As for a Dive Shop nearby, we did one trip through Hustler which was for divers and snorkelers, which is right next door. We were only interested in snorkeling, so we did go to the Water Taxi and found other people to take us out. The Dive Shops are within an easy walk and they can pick you up at the PV dock.

Gaz Cooper's Dive Belize is located close by PV. Gaz owns a couple of units there and has some great dive/lodging packages.
I've dived with them many times and have always been very satisfied.

Enjoy!

MJMurphy is correct. Hustler tours is right outside the gate. It was VERY convenient for us. Paradise villas also have kitchens. Ramon's does not. PV is a much better value.... We LOVED it.

My husband & I spent our honeymoon at the Sunbreeze and we loved it! They were right across the street from the airport but we never heard any planes at all. The hotel is right on the beach and you can see the ocean from every room. There was a pool also on the beach and a great outside bar beside the pool and next to the restaurant which is also part of the Sunbreeze (and had terrific food). There is a dive shop on site and they are very helpful.

We went to AC the first week of December 2000...the weather when we were there was perfect but they told is that it had rained almost everyday for the two weeks prior. That was probably unusual but we lucked out...don't know how the weather is in November but I think if we did it again, we'd probably go a little later in December...just my two cents!

Agree with Mina about Dec as opposed to Nov. Have never been to AC in either month but we have friends who have gone to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico(similar weather)in November numerous times and it is usually rainy. They now go in January. We have traveled to the Mexico region in Jan/Feb many times and the weather is always great. Locals may help more with this, but I think I have heard that November is usually the rainy month.

Forgot to add that we are leaning toward Paradise Villas or Sunbreeze for a visit in September.Heard Ramon's is great, but expensive. We also want a kitchen area for heating up food we bring back from all the wonderful restaurants.Anyone know if Sunbreeze has kitchens? Is their pool oceanfront? That is one of the big factors making us lean toward Paradise Villas- their pool looks awesome.

The SunBreeze does not have rooms with kitchenettes. They do, upon request, provide small refrigerators. I will be staying there in May for the first time. Their pool does face the ocean and is close to the bar. Check this website for their website link and you can see pictures. You can email them with questions. Julia, the manager, is quite helpful and very prompt at returning emails. Good luck!

Thanks to everybody who replied. My husband and I decided on the Paradise Villas. It almost sounds like you can't go wrong. We can't wait but I guess we have to for 8 LONG months.
