Hey all!

We're planning a trip to AC May 5, and was hoping to get reservations at a place called the Village Resort. Has anyone heard of this place? We looked at the website, and it looks great - but no one will return our email. Does anyone have a phone number for them, or can suggest a place to stay. We're looking to go low budget for accomodations, so we can spend all our money on tours!

Thanks

Think you should look at another place. The Web site is out of date. Village/Maya Katut or whatever it's called these days was built in a strange location for a resort, not on the sea, has gone through all kinds of changes including an attempt to sell units as low-priced "condos," (what a joke), various owners, storm damage, use as student housing. Just because it's on a Web ad doesn't make it true!

Dear Flycasual,

There are several good options for you. Check the lodging section of this website. I will be there May 5 - 12 and have met several people through this message board who will also be there. Our current plan is to get together at BC BBQ on Sunday at Noon. (See other posting).Come and join us if you are so inclined!

Thanks for your input. So how important is it to reserve a room for AC in May? Will I have trouble finding a place if we don't? Any suggestions where we can stay?

you need to be a bit more specific on what you want, where you want to stay (north, south, in town), and how much you want to spend a night.

We wanted to stay pretty close to town. Hope to keep it in the range of $30-$60 (US) a night. We really just wanted a nice, clean place to sleep with a hot shower and a fan - so we can spend our money on fun stuff!

For the price you want to pay either Lill'ys or the Conch Shell would suit your needs. Right in town, on the beach, simple yet clean. Six of us choose Lilly's as we needed 6 beds. Amigos Del Mar & Aquarius Dive shops are right in front of these facilities.
