Where did you dine at last night? How was it? How was the food quality/flavor/service etc? Value? Beverages? Just like to see some discussion about the dining options on the island and which joints are bad/good/great - be it a resort restaurant or a mom and pop hole in the wall!

George's Restaurant - great breakfasts, good prices and George is a very hospitable gentleman.

Had breakfast there the other day and was around the standard BZ$15 - but was outstanding!! 3 eggs, ham, bacon, 2 slices wholemeal toast and jam

Just had lunch at the Lazy Croc - YUMMY!

We wait patiently every week until the weekend for our favorite treats - today my husband and I split the combo platter (still have leftovers) which is ribs, chicken and pulled pork complete with 3 different BBQ sauces- sides were Mac and cheese (the real stuff people!), fries, sweet coleslaw and crisp fried okra. There were at least 6 slices of Texas toast - grilled.

I think it's around $42 BZE and could probably feed a family of 4 smile

El Fogon is a true island experience, San Pedro atmosphere at its best. Spent many afternoons there with Tulu last time I was fortunate enough to be on Ambergris…….. Hopefully again soon.

Here are some of our favorite restaurants:

Caramba’s on Middle Street for great seafood and good portions. Is air conditioned and has great seafood and Belizean dishes.

Fido’s for great lunch on the beach. Best key lime pie. Dinner is good too if you want the noise, bar, band, etc.

Lily’s Treasure Chest for really good lunch on the beach: ceviche, stewed chicken, cole slaw, rice and beans. (This is the traditional Belizean meal—gotta try it. Yum.)

Wild Mango’s on the beach for dinner.

Blue Water Grill on the beach for lunch or dinner. Good fish and chips.

Sunset Grill on the back side of the island to watch the sun set over the lagoon and feed the giant tarpons in the water there, right from your table. Get there before sunset.

Hidden Treasure south of town for a beautiful, secluded, romantic dinner.

The Reef across from Caramba’s for good seafood, good stewed chicken, rice and beans for only $4 US!, and a good key lime pie. Lobster cheap there. Just really good prices.

Elvi’s on Middle Street for a great authentic Belizean feel. Sand floors. Go on Friday night for the all-you-can-eat Maya buffet.

El Fogon for REALLY authentic Maya and Belizean food. Lunch only I think. A little hard to find. On a side street near the airport.

The Patio. Sand floors, good seafood.

Estelles on the beach for the BEST breakfast on the island. You have to try the fryjacks.

Celi’s on the beach. Nice view. Good food.

Waraguma on Middle Street. They make pupusas right there on the street that are so good if you want a quick meal for cheap.

DandE’s Ice Cream for the best sorbets and frozen custard you’ve ever had.

Lazy Coc, just a mile or two north of Reef Village for really good barbecue. Only on weekends.

Mickey's on Middle Street for good portions and good prices.

Legend's just north of Reef Village for great burgers.

There are so many more that are good. I have never had a bad meal!

Legends is my goto place for a bad ass burger. Good drinks, GREAT prices.

tcoats, im suprised you didnt mention Rojo Lounge up north. I ride my bike up there when I want to really treat myself, best food I've had here yet.

Not too expensive either. for what you get it think it is very very reasonably priced. Also its a great view/venue.

tcoats, thanks for the other suggestions though I plan to check them all out!

Hey Ac

I like Rojos and the food for sure is good but I would not consider them inexpensive its one of the more expensive eateries on the island (but very good). Only reason I am saying it is is if someone reads this and then makes the effort to go all the way up there with his wife and 2 kids expecting it to be inexpensive he will be in for a shock.

He better be prepared to drop several hundred bucks for the meal and drinks.

Gaz, thats probably true. I should explain.

Honestly I dont remember what the bill was last couple times I ate. but I remember things like conche ceviche, or a pizza, wasnt much more than captain morgans. And the quality of the food was top top notch (like i said best on the island for me so far).

So for dinner you are probably right Im sure entries are much more than what I've had there so far, I've only ate lunch a couple times. So the bill hasnt been too bad, yet! haha. But I do remember the drinks being local prices (cheap, not rape resort prices).

I have only been as far north as Captain Morgans. Is Rojo farther north than that?

Thanks for the suggestion. I have heard good things about it. We will have to check it out next visit.

Yes its way past captain morgans its very close to Mata Chica a few doors down.

You will have to take a water taxi there and have them drop you off at there dock.
