that would still give us two months to find a place, its just frustrating, there are so many great posts on this web-site about places to stay, things to do and what to eat, but it seems nobody has any info on houses.

by the time you get back i will still have a couple of months, so i will wait for your feedback, thanks a bunch!!

Koz from Denver..are you dead set on renting a house? Lots of great places to stay with "home-like" atmospheres(condo's and hotels with kitchen/living-dining area/ bedrooms),oceanfront. Just wondering. If couples going, you can arrange to have close proximity to each other.

Forgot to add, by the way, we have seen houses for rent...not sure now where they are. Maybe check under real estate? Lan might be able to help you, or some of the locals who visit the board. Good Luck! You will love AC, no matter what!

thanks for the info everyone, and please keep it coming, mary and scott we like to rent houses because we tend to have a few cocktails late into the evening, and the last thing we want is some 90 year old woman banging on the wall telling us she needs to get rest in order to get up at 4 am to watch the 700 club...(if the following paragraph profiles you or anyone you know, please no offense intended)

I just want to do as much research as possible before we decide, and I thought this was a great forum.

Diann, I will e-mail you thanks for the invite.

Koz..was not trying to be nosey when we asked you about why you wanted to rent a house as opposed to a hotel/condo. We too like to have late night beers, gin and tonics, whiskey and coke, rum and coke, etc. When we stayed on AC last fall, we stayed at the Seven Seas on the north side of town toward the cut in the river. Very small place,12 units, each with living area/ kitchen/bedroom.Two buildings, both oceanfront, 3 stories each building,2 units side by side on each floor.Great front porch on each unit with chairs..great for having those late night cocktails or whatever. We never had any complaints from other guests, or the management. My husband and I had one unit and my mom and my sister had the unit right next to it. Both on first floor.Close enough to town. Our favorite restaurant, Papi's Diner is around the corner with two tables out front..spent many nights eating, drinking at Papi's,then a very short walk or golf cart ride to the Seven Seas. However, it might be cheaper to rent a house, don't know. Whatever you decide, you will have a wonderful time..we only meant to be helpful....sorry if we came across wrong!

By the way, forgot to add, this board is a great place to get loads of info, and we do the same thing prior to booking..try to do as much research as possible...we are now trying to find a place for fall..Mom and my sister not going..just my husband and I and we are still searching for that "perfect" place. Personally, I think part of the fun of going is in the planning!

mary and scott, I wasnt offended in the least, my comments were made in jest. It looks like we are going with Casa Plata, has just about everything we need with the exception of air conditioning, now why would that be a problem with 80percent humidity....lol.

Cramer, lets hook up, stop by the house if you are out and about...and anyone else on this board for that matter.

We cant wait---again we will be there 6/13-6/21...

Axeman... same thing here.. and on the other message board, I left a question about ITL/Glenn Godfrey Group, asking if anyone had any info on this company, but... there seems to be a person on that list that doesn't want anyone else to move down there!! Can't say I blame them too much, but.. you don't need to be rude. So, if you find any info, let me know... and vice versa... thanks!! diann

Hey Diann, I left you the information that you were looking for on the other message board. Just so you know the gentlemen that answered your question is actually a Belizean. Born and raised there. I think he was just interested in knowing why you would want this information. You are aware that unemployment in Belize is running around 12% and that you all jobs availabe have to be offered to the Belizean work force first. Also you must obtain a work permit to gain employment in Belize.
Hope the phone numbers work for you. If I find a website I will let you know.

Casa Plata is a great choice! you won't be disappointed. It is my parents home and they rent it out when not there. they have a dipping pool which should keep you nice and cool also a great place to have a cocktail or two. We just returned from there this week and had a blast.

hey LisaD....one question for you, does casa plata have a seawall, or can you basically walk out the door onto the beach and into the ocean??

hi kcbc...thank you so much... i'll head there now for that #. i didn't mean to be rude, but i read a few other posts from him and he seemed to be kind of rude to anyone even interested in coming down or moving there. i guess i'm just saying you can voice your opinion w/o being nasty. can't say i don't blame him for not wanting 'americans' down there, especially knowing he is a native. well, thanks again!!!!!
