I've read that we should take stuff for the kids. Do they come up to you looking for things or what? What kind of trinkets should we bring? I think this is a great thing to do, I'm just not sure about what to do or give.

We never had children come up to us looking for any trinkets. They came around selling beaded bracelets and necklaces that they had made.Very friendly,VERY POLITE, well behaved. They all (from what we saw)go to school (unlike in Mexico) and also bring around food that their mom's cook while they are in school. Bought lots of it and never got sick! Delicious and cheap! After the first few days we got to know them, and then offered them chocolate candy.They did ask for money for their schools(for supplies), but as we read a while back on the board, it is better to donate the money directly to the schools instead.We told them that was what we would do, and they were fine with that. We never gave them money.

My sister brought a bunch of stuff to give the kids too.
She brought candy that wouldn't melt; pez, tootsie rolls, sweat tarts, that kind of thing. As far as little gifts, really just the little things like matchbox cars, yo-yos, and the like. Someone had posted a great list of things just a few weeks back, look on and I'll see if I can't bring it up top for you. It may be in the general chat board. Check there as well. If so, I'll get it up for you. (My gosh, that sounds sexy, doesn't it????)

Thanks for all the information, I also like the Idea of taking some school items. I think everyone should take alittle something down when they visit! I know that we take all these little thing for granted. I can't wait to go, Too bad it's still 7 months away. I'm sitting here today at work (a Saturday) and all these people are running around in swim suits (i work at a hotel with a Waterpark) and i'm in a suit and pantyhose, the unfairness of it all! It's foggy and ugly outside, not too cold at least! Okay enogh of poor me, Everyone have a fantastic weeekend!
