The robbery took place at 3.04pm in the luxurious Grand Hyatt hotel. During the panic that followed several people got injured. The robbery took place in the front room of the ballroom. A few minutes before the robbery, 48 poker players had registered to the high-roller event with a deposit of 10,000 euros per person. The cash register must have contained at least 480.000 euro cash.
The room was cleared for 30 minutes after the raid, because a robber shouted that there was a bomb in the room, but the tournament resumed shortly after that.
