I live in an area straddling 2 counties, and those 2 remained in the 5-7.0% groups. That said, so far overall, this year is doing much better for our 3 businesses compared to the same period in 2009. This has always been the busiest time of year for us due to income-tax return $$, and high volume has (so far) been sustained longer than 1st quarter 2009. Friends that own businesses in the Placencia area say that tourist arrivals are up slightly for the same period over last year also. Hopefully things are looking up, however, I think it is going to be a long haul.
Fortunately for our businesses here, we are well-established and have low overhead; makes it easier to ride the economic roller-coaster.
