My DH has a multi-state concealed handgun permit that covers Arkansas (where we live), Texas (where we work), Louisiana and Oklahoma. It isn't THAT simple to get one. YOu have to apply for the permit (background check etc.) and then take a weekend course specifically for concealed handgun permit.

Looks like you were mistaken - Elbert has the whole chainsaw thing going on. And boy you don't want to be around when that happens.

I do not currently have a gun or permit, I've had gun and permit in Belize the past and investigated getting another recently, that's how I know that they are getting to casual with the permits,
I was shocked at the offers to purchase a new permit.
Its to easy.
I enjoyed the thought people carrying guns had reasons for carrying them and some training in using it.
Now it seems you just need a couple of thousand dollars bz and know the right guy.
That's worrisome, more so than Elbert carrying a side arm.

Whats really worrisome is seeing a white-haired gringo, drink in hand, hanging out in a popular local bar with a gun stuck in his waistband...at his back so anyone could grab it away. I don't go there anymore!

Your not referring to me, I've never been in a bar with a fire arm in Belize.

I don't recall any of the recent shootings being done by a white haired gringo - drink in hand or not.
