We are a couple of middle aged ex-hippies, whos old bones need comfort, but we are happy with funky accomodations. Looking for bargains, in order to stay longer. Stayed in little cabinas in Costa Rica that were very nice and only $30-40US. Realize things are a bit more expensive in Ac, but are there any bargains that aren't "dives"??? Kitchen unit would be helpful. Also, what about location? We are not into the night-life scene, so we don't need to be "where the action is". Basically into diving, jungle exploring, and lazing on the beach. Any suggestion? Many thanks,Da

Try the Hideaway .. Just south of town. Pool,Resturant and bar..Cheep clean rooms and real friendly folks, Stayed there for the past 6 trips.

Wow!!!such fast and friendly replys! Know we're gonna love it. Thinking of staying at Hotel Del Rio(casa grande)...with the kitchen, I'm willing to spend a little more. Anyone stayed there? And when would be the best time to come, to fairly guarantee good diving weather? I've taken my guy on 3 tropical vacations in November(best time for us to travel) and had the unfortunate luck of arriving just after HUGE storms which left the waters murky for weeks! He now believes all those crystal clear water shots he sees are taken in aquariums..LOL. Is November feasable? Or should we wait till January?

The water is always clear here. Bad days are great! Try the Conch Shell Hotel for clean cheap rooms with a kitchen.
