We are Belize bound (first time) next Saturday. After this seemingly endless Maine winter we are MORE than ready for Banana Beach resort. Here's the question: Should we ask the resort to make plane reservations to San Pedro? Or should we begin our adventure with a boat from Belize City? If so how would we do that? We would some feedback on this. Thanks

Depends when your plane arrives Belize City.. The last boat to A.C. Leaves about 3;00 from the Swing bridge area. Its about an hour ride. Cost is 25.00 bz. Gives you time to slow down to island time. But if you arrive past 2;00 in International you will have a hard time making it in time to catch the boat. I use the boat as often as I can , its a great time..

Just returned home yesterday :-( If you're coming from Maine then you'll probably want to take the plane over to AC. Your trip is going to be long enough as it is and taking the plane will allow you to get checked in and start relaxing A.S.A.P. Hope your trip is a good as ours was.

Just back from six weeks a Banana Beach. You will love it! Take the plane for sure the Ferry or Water taxi takes 1 1/2hrs. from Belize City, and you would have to collect your bags, put them in a taxi, load them onto the boat, take them off of the boat, get another taxi then onto your hotel. Spend the extra $21.00 it's worth it! Say hello to Julie, Sandra, Horace, Henry, Jose and Jaqui for us. Have Fun!
