“We’re going to operate two flights a day; in the morning and in the afternoon. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to start off with and as the service grows and is successful we will add days until finally we’re flying every day. The morning flight we think is going to be more for the San Pedranos that have got business the Belize government and Americans dealing with passport issues and the other San Pedranos, I guess dealing with VISA issues at the US Embassy and the other embassies for that matter; Mexico and the rest of Central America. The return we would hope would provide a little cargo business, high end vegetables going to the Cayes and then the rest of the flights we are really not sure. We are hoping to get some tourism from the Belize International Airport to here for the tourists that are going on to San Ignacio and Cayo. We have been approached by the business community, by the embassies, by the San Pedranos and by the tourism sector in Cayo and San Ignacio for years. This goes back a decade and they have always wanted this service but we have to balance providing a dependable service with making a profit. It was always a question of when not if and we just decided this was the time was right to give it a try.”
Flight prices from San Pedro to Belmopan are three hundred and thirty three dollars roundtrip and roughly about one hundred and sixty dollars one way.
