Good afternoon, I know it's short but I just needed to inform you all that there will be an outage tomorrow March 12, 2010 starting @ 5:00am to 8:30am all area of Boca Del Rio to Tranquility Resort. We will try to run standby to hold from BTL to Boca Del Rio Bridge so power will only go off temporarily for that area.

Never know what area I live in, and neither BEL nor the Town Council have been able to tell me. Anyone know what area Pedro's is in?

No, but actually that probably is the district. My road (Seastar Street) is between Seagrape (that's the one your place is on, right?) and Coconut Drive.

super-duper! there will be no power the entire day of my arrival. but if we're realllly lucky, we may get some cheese or water tho.
we say, oh well, ya gotta love it - its not our first power outage nor water shortage there. good thing we're not newbies and just roll with whatever belize brings us (or doesn't, in this case). but can you imagine how this must look to first time visitors?

Sweetjane - I don't see anyplace that is out for a whole day - or is it too early for my tired eyes to read?
Advice to all who can afford it - buy a generator (especially resorts) for a host or reasons. It's something that people everywhere need to think about (east coast US/ice storms are a example of life threatening conditions due to lack of power). As we depend more and more on technology, we are more and more vulnerable (and disabled and unhappy) when that technology flutters for even an hour.
It's not just about BEL, it's not just the Mexican grid, it's not just hurricanes ------ it's about being prepared for life's curve balls - of which there seem to be more not less over time.

poetic license? no? sorry, ok, downright exaggerating due to giddiness of impending arrival...its not all day only 4 hours. i get up predawn, so 8-noon in my world IS all day! and continuing in my facetious vein, (or not) when they say its over at noon, is it really over by noon? it does so often seem things are counterproductive to the population, leaving it to the individual to cover himself for, well, everything. obviously, up here, without power for 4 hours, business would come to a halt. someone else once said to me that moving to belize sure did teach her patience.
