I'm often asked why I do this. Well, this video doesn't explain why, but gives all sorts of reasons why I wouldn't. It's also a good example of a meticulously planned and executed dive (I don't think).

It seems to be quite cold on this dive.

I guess it was cold must be an aquired taste as it looked a total crap dive and it was cold.

Well I will stick to min 80 degree water i.ve done several deep dives 250ft but to tell you the truth dont see anything at those depths thats interesting to me. I prefer seeing the litte fishes and bright colors.

I would take a 30ft dive any day of the week.

LOL, well, based on the language once they got into warm water, I gather that thespeaker is just that way, no matter his temperature. I did find myself wishing that the video clip also showed water temp instead of just depth. I've been in "**&^&*" cold water. One time, my contact lenses froze on my eyeballs, my disorientation was complete and needed help to surface. Other times, I could barely breathe.

For many years since, I've been like Gaz. I'm a warm water wuss and why anyone would want to dive in cold water escapes me. Still, lots of people including friends of mine, not only love their cold water dives, they even dive in mountain lakes where there is nothing to see. They are turned on by the science of the air mixes and their dive plans.

Seriously funny! I literally laughed out loud each time the depth came up on the screen smile
