I'm planning a visit in the third week of June. What're the chances for a successful whale shark drive during that time frame? How would I go about finding out and getting on a boat if there is a citing?
Sam
P.S. Here's hoping the $^#*@*! oil spill doesn't affect them

Coming to AC in mid-June! Can't wait! :-)
Sorry for the newbie nature of the question ;-) I was hoping I can hang out in AC and still be able to do an overnight or 2 day trip if / when there has been sightings? I'll read the page. Thanks elbert :-)

You can stay in AC and then do 2 nights in Placencia. Its difficult (more or less impossible) to just do an overnight due to the Tropic air plane schedules. The 4/5 days around the full moon (JUNE 24th - JULY 6th) are the best times for sighting Here is a link to Seahorse Dive Shop website which will give you more info on whale shark diving. I thoroughly recommend them http://belizescuba.com/whalesharks.lasso?-token.session=4A50D38A0cde61B85EYhr25EB0E6
