Is there a bookstore on CC right now? Thanks

Several places to trade books..Toucan gift shop sells alot of Belize books, no call for an actual book store like The Image Factory in B.C. even they would not make it if Daddy did not own the building....

Before I get negatives responses let me Clarify. There is always a need for books and literature and the promotion of reading. This Island just cant at this time support a book store. The business would fail. Sad...but true.

Pages Bookstore is in San Pedro. They have a large (huge, actually) selection of gently used books. If you are looking for something specific, I am sure you could just call them. Let me get the number so I can post.

One of the internet cafes on front street has a selection of books which can be bought and traded. Don't know the details of the business but have seen a wall of books. Located next to Anwar'sTours, I think. Hope they are still there since I have credit paid for.

The internet cafe is Cayeboard Connection.

In the European or American sense, there are no bookstores on the northern cayes, nor as far as I know in Belize City or Dangriga. SO probably none in Belize. Probably the best bookstore available to people in Belize is Amazon.com.

There is a very large book store very well stocked with current books in a broad selection located in between the Caye Caulker and San Pedro Expess Water Taxis.in Belize City..new books only. Its called The Image Factory. The art gallery has moved to the rear of the building and the front store is books. Its been there for at least 7 years.

Thanks for that info Cooper, must visit next time I'm there. I miss browsing around a decent bookshop.

The Image Factory has books, but personally I would not call it well stocked with a broad selection. However, it's been about 9 or 10 months since I was last in the shop, so maybe it has changed.

Just have to add a plug for Angelus Press in Belize City. While not full service and certainly not in Caye Caulker or AC, they have a wonderul selection of Belize and Central America-centric books about culture, flora, fauna. I always enjoy visiting and often find an interesting read. I visit the store by the water taxi but there is also one at the traffic circle beside the grocery store on the way to the northern highway.

Image Factory has current topics..not just Belize Topics..Best Sellers etc.. but still not the best....as book stores go....

there's a library on CC, next to the post offie, open in the afternoon. Wide selection of books!
