Can anyone help identify what I might be seeing at night, off of our pier, north of town - blinking or twinkling underwater?

Comb jellies are bioluminescene creatures and actually are not jelly fish but tiny plankton animals.
Their light is activated with water movement , try moving the water around them and watch. Lots of these guys on our night dives.

Cool! Thanks! We see these during the day, too, I believe - diving - but of course they're not lighting up.
