My turn to ask....What is this tree ? I liked it so much i brought home seeds from Lamani and got it started in my back yard.

Is it a tree or a bush. The tree that has flowers like this is the flamboyant tree. There are a number of other names for the tree. But I don't know the name of the bush.

Were the seeds in a large pod - about a foot long? Or were the pods only about 4 inches long?

Its a tree, yes from a large pod but only about 4 inches long.

Pride of Barbados, comes in a few diffent colors; organge, red and think I've seen yellow as well.

Pride of Barbados it is then, Looks pretty good here in Belize also. Yes I saw some that are totally yellow!

I planted 5 or six more that are off to a good start. They grow fast.

It looks more like the small tree/shrub that grows wild along the cart path north of the bridge. I have a beautiful one at the entrance to Birdland. I found it on the internet some time ago called CAESALPINIA PULCHERRIMA

Thats it with out a doubt but it seems to also be called Pride of Barbados.
