Any recommended venues on the island for watching World Cup matches?

In particular, of course, tomorrow's between England and the USA... (You've heard of soccer, right? ;-) )

Well officially the name for 'football" is Association Football, a term coined in England, the birthplace of the modern game.
Over the years, Association part has been dropped and the term Football is more widely accepted.
The official name for rugby is "rugby football"

Soccer was originally derived as a abbreviation by the English for Association Football. (assoc.) (this was back around the late 1800's when the modern game was still fairly new)

So I suppose us Brits really have ourselves to blame for the term "soccer"!!

Yes, I meant the 'football' that doesn't require players to dress up in dainty padding and helmets.

Born and bred in London, so my allegiances (and lexicon) are clear ;-)

I was wondering if the rival team was going to be able to muster any local fans for a big-screen experience somewhere - whatever they decide to rename the game.

I am going to Lime to watch it on their big screen, and to eat their 'Full English Breakfast', which they are running through lunch-time tomorrow. May even have a cuppa too, they will have Tetley's available.

I believe a few of the Brits here are also going to be at Cholo's, which has four large flat screens for your viewing pleasure.....

Here's looking forward to a good game tomorrow, and come on you Engerland!!!!!
