The board seems to me to be full of anonymous folks that would be moderated by their own concern for themselves if their identity was known.
If a poster signs up and doesn't give any information about themselves in the registration. I assume they are a troll.
If I click on the persons name and then click on view profile and it has no information, no email address, no occupation, no hobbies, no Location, no home page.
I consider them a Troll!
Their up to no good, suspected of malicious intent.

When i was an Adm. I could look at the ip address of users and watch posters sign in and comment on their comments. Some guy would ask a question and then register with the same ip address as another name and answer himself.
something like "Does any one have any information on XYZ real-estate?" then sign in as someone else and say, " Yes it a good investment we like it a lot the wife and I bought two.".

Roll your eyes all you want but knowing who someone is, where they live and how they earn a living lends more or less credibility to their post. It gives the readers insight into why they post what they post. It also would cut down on the name calling / badgering which is too common at times.

If I post about a legal issue then knowing who I am and how I earn my living, you know you can take my post with a grain of salt.

Yes, Elbert, and after years on the internet (not just this board), my troll radar is usually pretty good. I didn't get it quite right yesterday though.

Anyone can get an email address under any name and address they want in 5 minutes. So much for legitimate.

Hey Dawn, Hope you get to make it to SP soon! It never fails to make me smile everytime I'm there. Between the friendly people, the sun, sand and surf (oh yeah... and drinks) you can't help but enjoy yourself. I've been down 10 times in 2 1/2 years and have loved every minute of it.

FYI, Ernie--very discretely--runs XYZ Realty, Resort and Reel Repair on AC and he always gives me a really good deal when we go trolling. I highly recommend him if you're looking for property (not necessarily your own) or just an experienced troll...er.

True the article was assuming you already have paid for a home on the beach and have no mortgage but i disagree with most of the posters responding the costs of living are high. Cost of living is high if you buy things that are imported from the us,and continue to try and live like they did when they lived there.
Duty is awful and designed to encourage you to buy local products that are dramatically cheaper because no duty has to be paid by the seller.
24.bz for a jar of Jiffy peanutbutter is a good example, just don't buy it and chose Belize peanutbutter.
I don't feel living expenses are high if you adjust your style !
