Arriving May 3, looking for information on fishing the flats or elsewhere for tarpon, bonefish, etc. I am trying to decide on whether to bring my own gear, or to rely on rentals. I'll buy a round or two for those who reply--On second thought, maybe I'll just buy a round or two....

Hey thanks Hacker! I won't be fly fishing, but I am taking spinning gear--rod rated 10-20 lb test, Penn 5000 series reel. Are you using plastics or hardware or both? I understand one should stick to silver crocodiles and the like, and plastic tube lures, but you sound like you definitely have the experience.

Hey......Your ready to rock and roll!
I'm bringing mostly converted fresh water stuff, Mitchell's and lightweight graphites.
Its gonna be a blast...
Try wading around and look for the bones tailin.
Bring some jigs and a couple of rapalas for whatever else will hit.

Have a blast
