It is worth it for many of us. Many didn't think so and moved back home. Depends on what you are looking for in a lifestyle.
Plenty of pharmacies to choose from.
You will not be able to have a car and getting a golf cart can be difficult. You will need to be a resident to apply for the permit.
There are shipping companies that can send your things from either Houston or Miami.
Any of the Real Estate companies at mlsambergriscaye.com are highly recommended.
To get from the belize international airport, the best and easiest way is via Tropic Air. 20 minute flight and you're on the island.
You have a good day too.

Next to Legends is Waterford, which is being built at this time. Pirate Villas is 100' north of Waterford on the same side of the street.

No but you have to be a resident to get a permit to own a golf cart on the island.

Hi,
My husband and I are also buying land on AC and will be building a home. As with BobCor I am new to this site, and have many of the same questions, although I have been on site after site getting a great deal of info, no one has said, how do you get your furniture, and other belongings to the island if there are no trucks, or vehicles on the island? The land we are buying is very remote and has no electric yet, can individuals who have some electric knowledge, and lots of building knowledge, install their own solar system, and does everyone have rain catching equipment. What should we do about cell phone service, and internet, and television, if we are so far out?
My husband and I are 56 and 63 years old, and have been trying to retire for 2 years, and it seems that the only way that is going to happen is for us to move far away.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Annliz

annliz. If you bring in your own furniture (you will have to pay duty on this unless you are coming in under QRP or Permanent Residency), it will be shipped to Belize City, where it will go through Customs. You can then easily have it brought over by barge to San Pedro. If you are in an isolated location, you will have to arrange a boat to bring your goods to you. You can purchase furniture in San Pedro and on the mainland. There are plenty of trucks and vehicles in San Pedro. The main mode of personal transportation is by golfcart and bicycle, although there are some personal vehicles. Many business have delivery trucks and pick ups. And of course there are the taxi vans.

If you will send me an email stuart@averysmartmove.com i will send you an attachment with lots of information you inquired about. We just bought a condo at the Phoenix so we've done a bit of research. This pdf file should answer many of your questions.
